southspace über Gummo:

In der letzten Woche habe ich den Baulärm vor meinem Fenster zu schätzen gelernt. Es ist mir nämlich ein absolutes Rätsel, wie man eine CD mit 54 Liedern aufnehmen kann, von denen jedes einzelne ganz gewaltig und individuell nervt. Mit „Piqueur Acts“ haben Gummo aus München dieses kleine Wunderwerk vollbracht und irgendwie muß ich ihnen dafür auch Respekt zollen, denn es erfordert bestimmt langes Training und einiges an Hartnäckigkeit, um so einen Krach zu fabrizieren.

„Piqueur Acts“ und „The Gruesome Twosome“ sind die Debüt CD’s der zwei Münchner Krawallbrüder von Gummo und beide gleichzeitig im Bodensatz Verlag erschienen, wo ja auch schon Kamerakino ein würdiges Zuhause gefunden haben. Während „The Gruesome Twosome“ noch halbwegs anhörbar ist, klingt „Piqueur Acts“, als ob man ein 50 Jahre altes Bandspulen-Gerät vor die Tür eines Bandproberaums stellt um dann gleichzeitig auf Rewind, Forward und Record zu drücken. Das Ergebnis ist logischerweise recht mies, Gummo haben aber bestimmt auch nichts anderes erwartet.

Wenn ich ganz ehrlich bin habe ich keinen blassen Schimmer, was man mit so einem Radau bezwecken will. Soll das Kunst sein? Bin ich zu alt dafür? Oder zu doof? Ist das die logische Fortführung von Stockhausen oder den Neubauten? Protest gegen das Establishment? Ich versteh es nicht. Antworten! Bitte!

Wenn man meint Referenzen nennen zu müssen, ohne welche zu kennen, muss man natürlich mit Stockhausen anrücken, um trotzdem irgendwie als "großer Musikintellektueller" durchzugehen.

Was hat denn Gummo mit Stockhausen zu tun?
Habt ihr etwa als Hidden Track "Gesang der Jünglinge 2" auf einer der Platten?

egal. trotzdem schön. wenn wir die leute überfordern machen wir was richtig.

Also ich finde Gummo total super und habe die Jungs schon immer verstanden und motiviert Ihren Weg zu gehen......... uuups ich war ja gar nicht gefragt.
